From Mourning to Dawn

“From Mourning to Dawn” is the diocesan grief support group for widows and widowers presented by facilitators (who have themselves also experienced the death of a marriage partner) who journey with participants on an eight-week journey of transformation and healing.

SEPTEMBER 2025 in Saskatoon –  The “From Mourning to Dawn” eight-week diocesan grief support program offers support and encouragement for widows and widowers, led by those who have also experienced this loss. It is open to participants who have been widows or widowers for more than two months. Two sessions will be offered in Saskatoon in the fall of 2025:

  • From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoons starting Sept. 9, held at the Catholic Pastoral Centre, second floor of the Cathedral of the Holy Family (elevator available), 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon, OR
  • From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings starting Sept. 11 at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 217 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon. Cost is $35. Contact Dianna at dknaus@sasktel.net or (306) 382-0535. (Grief ministry is supported by gifts to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal).

OCTOBER 2025 in Humboldt“From Mourning to Dawn” –  St. Augustine Parish in Humboldt, SK is offering this grief program led by Dr. Webster for widows and widowers, open to those who have been bereaved between two months to three years. Facilitators, who have all experienced the death of a spouse, will engage with participants on a journey of healing, offering support and encouragement. Sessions are two hours per week for eight consecutive weeks from Oct. 2 to Nov 20, 2025, held 2:30 to 4:30 pm Thursdays. Cost is $25 (book).
