Solidarity Sunday, April 5-6 – Solidarity Sunday is marked in our diocese on the Fifth Sunday of Lent.

Development and Peace – Caritas Canada invites you to give generously and thanks you warmly for your generosity during Share Lent’s Turn Debt into Hope campaign. Your donation transforms the lives of some of our most vulnerable sisters and brothers across the world.

Prayer Intentions – Response:  Lord, may your reign of love, justice and peace come!

• For the Earth, our common home, so that its resources are not plundered, but shared responsibly and equitably among the peoples of all countries, let us pray to the Lord.
• For political and civil leaders, that they may promote and protect the dignity of their fellow citizens, especially the most disadvantaged, let us pray to the Lord.
• For the great economic decision-makers, that concern for the common good, justice and peace may guide their decisions and actions, let us pray to the Lord.
• For the Church, that she may never cease to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to the world, and to promote the preferential option for the poor which is rooted in faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour and Redeemer, let us pray to the Lord.
• For the members of our Christian community, that the grace of the Jubilee Year may rekindle in each and every one the flame of solidarity and the commitment to bring about God’s reign, let us pray to the Lord.
• For the partners of Development and Peace – Caritas Canada, that they may, with our solidarity, continue to accompany and support communities around the world that are experiencing social injustice, we pray to the Lord.
