St. Philip Neri Refugee Committee plant sale – deadline to pre-order

St. Philip Neri Parish’s Refugee Committee will hold their annual Tomato, Pepper and Herb Sale on Saturday and Sunday May 10 and 11.
Plants can be pre-ordered by May 8 – To place an order, phone Sheila Flory at (306) 931-8053 or email sheila.flory@usask.ca.
Pick-up times at St. Philip Neri Church on the corner of Taylor St. and Munroe Ave. in Saskatoon will be scheduled for Saturday, May 10 between 1:00 pm-4:30 pm or before/after Mass that weekend. Pre-payment can be emailed to Sheila.flory@usask.ca or pay at pick-up with cash or cheque (made out to ‘St. Philip Neri Refugee Committee’).
Varieties include:
- Tomatoes: Lemon Boy (yellow slicer, low acid), Defiant (red slicer, late blight resistant), Primo Red (red slicer, good flavor), Supremo (roma type for sauces and canning), Vilma (small plants for pots with small tomatoes), SuperSweet 100 (cherry size fruit, larger plants, sweet), Tumbling Tom red (plants are recommended for hanging baskets with cherry size red fruit)
- Peppers: El Jefe (jalapeno type: medium hot), Red Knight (sweet bell pepper), Long Red Cayenne (long thin pepper: hot)
- Herbs: Basil, Lavendar
- Lettuce: Romaine
Tomatoes, peppers and herbs will be in 5” pots and are $6/plant or 4 or more for $5 each. Lettuce plants will be smaller transplants in flats of 4 plants. $5/flat (4 plants)
- Hoyas: low-maintenance plants with woody stems and waxy leaves, which remain evergreen. In 5” pots for $10 each
Plants will also be available for purchase before/after Mass at St. Philip Neri Parish on May 10 and May 11 — however, some varieties are limited so may be sold out.
