Shelter Worker training course begins

Community Shelter Worker course – The Saskatoon Trades & Skills Centre (STSC) in partnership with the Salvation Army is offering a six-week Community Shelter Worker course from Sept. 22 to Oct. 31.

This program will provide participants with the fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and certifications needed to gain employment as an emergency shelter worker. This program prepares participants through four weeks of classroom learning and two weeks of practical work experience, with skills to provide support and resources to individuals experiencing homelessness, ensuring their safety and well-being within the shelter environment.  Successful participants will be eligible for employment in one of Saskatoon’s winter warm-up locations, including St. Mary Parish in Saskatoon.

The Salvation Army is a trusted partner, aligning with Catholic Social Teaching in this area of outreach.
