Rebuilding Catholic Culture 10th Anniversary Conference
Rebuilding Catholic Culture presents “Catholic Thought Contests Modernity: Newman, Chesterton, O’Connor, and Benedict XVI” on July 14 and 15, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Saskatoon.
Pope Pius X called Modernism “the synthesis of all heresies” (Pascendi Moninici Gregis, par. 39). What exactly is modernism, why does it matter, and what means does the Catholic intellectual and literary tradition offer to ordinary Catholics to help us grasp the truths of our faith more clearly in the modern world? This conference explores the Church’s confrontations with modernity, and examines the responses to modern error of four important Catholic thinkers and writers. The conference will host exciting talks by Fr. Geoffrey Young, Dr. Ryan Topping, Dr. Celene Sidloski, and Fr. Gregory Hrynkiw.
The opening keynote on Friday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. is a free dessert night (please RSVP).
The full-day Saturday, July 15 event requires pre-registration and features an opening Mass, four talks, lunch, and a question period/social. Cost of the full-day event is $50/person, $80/couple, and $20/student.
To reserve a ticket contact Celene Sidloski at csidloski@stmcollege.ca or phone (306) 715-1541.
