Prayer Walk for Peace

PRAYER WALK FOR PEACE – September 21st is the International Day of Prayer for Peace, which people of faith around the world will be observing.
Here in Canada, Christians are invited to join a Prayer Walk for Peace in support of the ministry of The Canadian Council of Churches (CCC). In a world longing for healing, justice, and reconciliation, you are invited to “pray with your feet.”
Walk in your neighbourhood, your church community, or your city’s streets. Walk by yourself or with others from your church or ecumenical community. If walking is not an option for you, consider gathering with others to pray and reflect together about your hopes for peace. Others might gather for prayer after Sunday morning worship and then walk together in their church’s neighbourhood. Consider connecting with other Christian churches in the neighbourhood. Meet in a local park on Sunday afternoon, share prayers for peace, and then disperse for a quiet prayer walk in the beauty of God’s Creation. If you don’t walk, join from a comfortable sitting room with the window open, connected with friends, colleagues and nature. Prayer is essential. All gifts are welcome.

- Advocate for justice and peace across Canada
- Build interfaith and intercultural bridges
- Stand with refugees and victims of trafficking
- Foster reconciliation with Indigenous communities
- Equip all of us to be a unifying voice of hope
