Our Lady of Fatima celebration – Mass, Procession, Potluck
May 9 @ 1:00 pm – 5:30 pm
St. Mary Parish, Saskatoon will again host an annual Our Lady of Fatima feast day celebration at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, beginning with Mass at St. Mary Church, 211 Avenue O South, Saskatoon, followed by an outdoor procession and potluck meal.
Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration on May 9, 2026 — the Saturday before the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13, marking the 1917 appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Portugal: the now-Venerable Sr. Lucia dos Santos (1907-2005) and her cousins, siblings St. Francisco (1908-1919) and St. Jacinta Marto (1910-1920).

The celebration will begin with Mass presided by Fr. Kevin McGee, vicar-general of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon. Mass will be followed by the traditional outdoor procession with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, as participants pray the rosary and sing together. A potluck gathering will follow the procession, and all are encouraged to bring food to share. Participants are also invited to come dressed in cultural clothing and to bring flags for the procession. Anyone interested in volunteering or providing entertainment for the potluck meal is invited to e-mail jnunes@rcdos.ca.
NOTE: All CWL councils, Knights of Columbus councils, and parishes across the diocese are asked to send representatives to the Our Lady of Fatima celebration May 9 at St. Mary Church, Saskatoon, and to bring their banners for the procession. Clergy are also invited to concelebrate Holy Eucharist with Fr. McGee at 1 p.m. May 9. Councils and parish representatives only are asked to please confirm attendance by e-mailing Jennifer Nunes jnunes@rcdos.ca.
