Anniversary Celebration at Our Lady of Lourdes, Saskatoon

The 60th anniversary of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish will be celebrated Sunday, Sept. 28 at the church, located at the corner of 12th Street East and Wiggins Avenue, Saskatoon, beginning with 10 a.m. Mass, followed by a pot-luck barbecue (bring a salad or dessert to share; hot dogs and hamburgers are provided).

Our Lady of Lourdes officially became a parish on Aug. 15, 1965, after several years as a Chapel of Ease, served by priests from St. Joseph Parish. The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes was built as an extension to Bishop Murray School in 1962, with an adjoining auditorium used by both the school and the church. The chapel and auditorium were blessed by Saskatoon Bishop Francis Klein on Sept. 18, 1963.
