ADVENT RETREAT – “Rejoice”
An Encounter Advent Retreat was held Dec. 6, 2025 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, led by the Sisters of the Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity.
Rejoice was inspired by Philippians 4:4, which encourages us to “Rejoice in the Lord always.” This retreat offered a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal.
Participants engaged in a variety of enriching activities, including reflective prayer sessions, inspiring talks by Verbum Dei Sisters, and moments of silent contemplation.
LENTEN RETREAT – “Man of Sorrows”
An Encounter Lenten Retreat was held Saturday, March 7, 2025 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family
“Man of Sorrows” was a diocesan Lenten retreat inspired by Isaiah 53:3, often referenced for its depiction of the “Man of Sorrows.” Participants were invited to explore the depths of sorrow and redemption. The retreat led by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary offered an environment where individuals can deepen their faith and understanding of the sacrifice that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ made for humanity. Through guided meditations and prayer, attendees were encouraged to connect with Christ in meaningful ways in preparation for the Easter renewal of baptismal promises, while fostering a sense of community and shared devotion.
