  • Full-time Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation Coordinator - St. Anne's Catholic Church, Saskatoon

    St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 217 Lenore Dr, Saskatoon, SK. seeks an energetic, engaging, self-motivated, full time Evangelization and Adult Faith Formation Coordinator (37.5 hours/week) to start September 1, 2018.

    Job Overview

    Help adult parishioners encounter Christ, grow as disciples, and be evangelizers; help adult non- parishioners encounter Christ, grow as disciples, and find a home in the parish.

    Job Responsibilities

    Two main areas of responsibility are to facilitate evangelization and adult faith formation for the parish as a whole and to coordinate adult initiation sacraments.

    Evangelization and adult faith formation responsibilities include leading an already existing Discovery Faith Study program, in addition to evaluating the needs and opportunities of the parish, forming ministry teams, and offering further evangelizing and formation opportunities at the parish.

    Adult sacrament responsibilities include coordinating the RCIA process, as well all overseeing baptism preparation, marriage preparation, and other sacramental preparation opportunities involving adults. Work with parish volunteers to offer an inviting and evangelizing experience.

    Coordinator reports to St. Anne’s Pastor and is expected to work with Staff Team and Pastoral Council. Must work collaboratively with parish volunteers and assist all parishioners and staff inliving out the Vision and Values of Saint Anne’s Parish.

    Job Requirements

    Must be familiar with RCIA process, have training in Catholic theology, scripture, and liturgy, communication skills in public speaking and teaching, comfortable working with people of various ages and faith backgrounds, and be a self-starter able to take initiative. Relationship with Christ and his Church, and heart for evangelization, parish ministry and parish renewal are essential.

    Salary and Benefits

    Salary commensurate with education and experience as per the Diocese of Saskatoon pastoral salary grid.

    Position Summary:  The Development Assistant, reporting to the Development Manager, plays an essentialrole by providing administrative support to the Diocese of Saskatoon Catholic Foundation (the fundraising and stewardship arm of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon) and participating in all fundraising activities including database management, donor communications, direct mail appeals, and special events. The Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and communication activities. 

    Core and Strategic Functions:

    • Database Management:The Development Assistant will be responsible for the efficient and accurate entry of data related to fundraising and donor files.
    • Communications:The development Assistant, working with other Foundation staff, will be responsible for communicationsto parishes and donors.
    • Events:The development Assistant, working with other Foundation staff, will assist in the execution of fundraising events.

    The qualified candidate will possess:

    • Relevant post-secondary credential and/orcombination of education and experience
    • 3 to 5 year’s administrative assistant experience
    • Ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgement while performing job duties with little supervision
    • Demonstrated ability in being discreet and maintaining confidentiality
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser’s Edge
    • Demonstrated experience in database management
    • Open and friendly disposition with a demonstrated ability to work well with others
    • Basic working knowledge of the Catholic Church

    Working Conditions:

    • A full-time position of 37.5 hours per week or 1,950 hours per year
    • Regular office hours with some flexibility
    • Occasional evening or weekend event participation may be required
    • Works independently in a shared-office environment with some interruptions
    • A mix of routine/repetitive(i.e., data entry) and available(i.e., special events) tasks

    Compensation:

    • Remunerated monthly according to the Administrative Salary Grid for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon
    • Extended health and dental benefits
    • Defined contribution pension plan
