(lunch and refreshments will be provided). Everyone is welcome to the workshop at St. Augustine Catholic Church\, 602 Boychuk Drive\, Saskatoon. \n\n\n\nDeveloped by the Catholic Bishops of Canada\, “Horizons of Hope: A Toolkit for Catholic Parishes on Palliative Care” is designed to raise awareness and understanding\, and to help each of us – parishioners\, caregivers\, the sick and dying\, and/or family members – to find support and concrete assistance. \n\n\n\nBackground: When confronted with a life-limiting diagnosis\, we can find ourselves in an unfamiliar and even frightening situation. These moments are usually marked by having to make numerous practical decisions surrounding care and support for loved ones and ourselves. More often than not\, such decisions require moral discernment through the lens of our faith.  \n\n\n\nWe believe in the dignity and sacredness of human life at all stages\, from conception to natural death. At the same time\, our faith does not demand that life is to be sustained at all costs. Themes include: understanding the human experience of dying and death\, discerning and making decisions at the end of life\, accompanying those on the journey and supporting and integrating within the wider community. \n\n\n\nEach module features two videos. DESCRIPTION:Catholic Engaged Encounter weekends are held at St. Peter’s Abbey in Muenster\, SK. with the next weekend to be held March 28 to 30.  \n\n\n\nRegistration for this marriage preparation weekend is via the website:  ceecanada.ca/humboldt-muenster or contact weekend organizers Lynn and Wanda Freistadt at muenster@ceecanada.ca or (306) 373-8607. Cost is $480/couple\, which includes accomodations and meals. \n\n\n\nCatholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) is an intensive weekend of preparation for marriage\, in which each couple is offered the time and opportunity to question\, examine\, and deepen their relationship\, share in community and be open to God’s plan. Topics covered during the weekend include; self-awareness\, values and ideals\, community\, sexuality\, communication\, decision making\, Natural Family Planning\, vocations\, sacraments\, prayer and unity. Couples are given opportunities to learn more about one another as they engage in deep and meaningful discussions between themselves\, dealing with all aspects of married life.  \n\n\n\nA weekend stay keeps Engaged Encounter way from the distractions of everyday lives. The weekend is designed to deepen and enrich a couple’s relationship with one another\, as well as with God\, the Church and the world.

DESCRIPTION:Holy Spirit Parish\, 114 Kingsmere Place\,  Saskatoon will host a Horizons of Hope workshop about palliative care and end-of-life issues 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday\, March 29.  \n\n\n\nDeveloped by the Catholic Bishops of Canada\, “Horizons of Hope: A Toolkit for Catholic Parishes on Palliative Care” is designed to raise awareness and understanding\, and to help each of us – parishioners\, caregivers\, the sick and dying\, and/or family members – to find support and concrete assistance.  \n\n\n\nTo register\, please contact Kelly Wormsbecker at the Holy Spirit Parish office at (306) 374-1425.  \n\n\n\nFor more information about offering Horizons of Hope\, please contact Jackie Saretsky\, diocesan coordinator of Hospital Chaplaincy at jsaretsky@rcdos.ca or (306) 659-5839.
