SUMMARY:World Youth Day celebration - 11 am Cathedral of the Holy Family
DESCRIPTION:A World Youth Day celebration will be held on the Feast of Christ the King\, Nov. 22 as part of the 11 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Family\, 123 Nelson Road\, Saskatoon\, with Fr. Gerard Cooper presiding. Fellowship will follow. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Global Celebration of Youth and Young Adults – Established as an annual event by Saint John Paul II\, World Youth Day reminds us that young people hold a vital place in the life and mission of the Church. Each year on Christ the King Sunday\, dioceses around the world unite in prayer and celebration—connected spiritually to millions of youth and young adults journeying in faith across the globe. \n\n\n\nPope Leo XIV\, will continue to celebrate youth and young adults on November 22\, 2026\, the Solemnity of Christ the King\, which Pope Francis established in 2020\, when he called for a renewal of the annual global celebration of young people in local Catholic communities which began with Pope John Paul II in 1986. \n\n\n\nTheme for celebrations: \n\n\n\nThe theme of the 41st Global Celebration on Christ the King Sunday in Nov. 2026 and for the World Youth Day international event in Seoul\, South Korea in Aug. 2027 is: “Take courage! I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33). Read Pope Leo’s message: LINK.

SUMMARY:Day of Prayer for Reverence for Life in diocese
DESCRIPTION:Working with a diocesan Reverence for Life committee\, Bishop Mark Hagemoen of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon each year declares the last Sunday of January as a Day of Prayer for Reverence for Life\, on a date near to the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s January 1988 Morgentaler decision\, which removed all legal limits to abortion in Canada. \n\n\n\nWatch for this year’s message! \n\n\n\nPrayer for Reverence for Life\n\n\n\nAlmighty God\, giver of all that is good\, we thank you for the precious gift of human life: \n\n\n\nFor life in the womb\, coming from your creative power\, / For the life of children\, making us glad with their freshness and promise\, / For the life of young people\, hoping for a better world\, / For the life of people who are disabled\, teaching us that every life has value\, / For the life of the elderly\, witnessing to the ageless values of patience and wisdom. / Like Blessed Mary\, may we always say “yes” to Your gift. / Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect and cherish it from conception to its natural end. / And bring us at last\, O Father\, to the fullness of eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.
