DESCRIPTION:Horizons of Hope workshop about Palliative Care and End-of-Life will be held 9:30 am to 4 p.m. Saturday May 10at St. Patrick Parish\, 3339 Centennial Drive\, Saskatoon. Cost is $25 to cover lunch and refreshments. \n\n\n\nContact Jane Tabalag at spsaskatoon@rcdos.ca or call (306) 384-1100 (if sending e-transfer\, add your name and “Horizons of Hope”).  \n\n\n\nWhen confronted with a life-limiting diagnosis\, we can find ourselves in an unfamiliar and even frightening situation. These moments are usually marked by having to make numerous practical decisions surrounding care and support for loved ones and ourselves. Often such decisions require moral discernment through the lens of our faith. As Catholics\, we believe in the dignity and sacredness of human life at all stages\, from conception to natural death. At the same time\, our faith does not demand that life is to be sustained at all costs. Our faith in Jesus Christ has much to teach us about living and dying well.  \n\n\n\nHorizons of Hope: A Toolkit for Catholic Parishes on Palliative Care is designed to help each of us – caregivers\, the sick and dying and family members – to find support and concrete assistance.  \n\n\n\nCreated by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops\, Horizons of Hope workshops are one of the practical recommendations encouraged by the Saskatchewan Catholic bishops in their recent pastoral letter: “Dying With Hope: Living and Walking Together.”
