Neighbours Without Borders

Neighbours Without Borders - The Abu Sheikh family of Saskatoon is inviting the community to a one-time "Neighbours Without Borders" event in response to the recent crime against their father and grandfather, who was attacked while leaving a prayer service at his mosque in Saskatoon by men in a truck attempting to run him over, and who then vandalized his home with bricks. "Neighbours Without Borders" will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at the mosque, Islamic Association of Saskatchewan, 222 Copland Crescent, Saskatoon. At 2:30 p.m. participants will take a short solidarity walk to Abu’s home, returning at 3 p.m. to neighbouring Grosvenor Park for a tea service, ceremony, performances, and conversation. The event will conclude at 5 p.m. “Please bring your smiles, your hope for a better world, your light and your love, and your readiness to have laughs and hugs with delicious tea, as we do so often in our community.” - Abu Sheikh family.
