* St. Kateri Tekakwitha Feast Day is celebrated on April 17 in Canada. Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Saskatoon will again hold an outdoor rosary prayer procession with the statue of St. Kateri starting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 17 at Guadalupe House, 426 Avenue J South, and ending at St. Mary's Upper Hall, 20th St. W. and Avenue O South. The event will continue at the hall, with supper served at 6 p.m. and a play about St. Kateri to follow at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend this event honouring St. Kateri. Born in upstate New York in 1656 to a Mohawk chief father and an Algonquin Christian Mother, St. Kateri died near Montreal on April 17, 1680, recognized for her piety, holiness and devotion to Jesus. She was canonized on Oct. 21, 2012, the first Indigenous woman in North America to be named a saint.
