The rhythm of the Contemplative Mass is a gentle, steady flow, marked by 20 minutes of silence after communion. It is designated to allow space for reflection and recognition of the intimate presence of Christ who comes to us through scripture and the Eucharist. Silence within this form of worship can feel uncomfortable or awkward, especially when experienced for the first time.

Bishop Mark Hagemoen is the guest speaker at the Lay Formation Alumni Fall Gathering to be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at Queen's House, 601 Taylor Street West, Saskatoon SK.

The day begins with Mass at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast at 9 a.m. Bishop Mark Hagemoen will speak during the morningm, followed by lunch and an AGM. A presentation on "what it means to be alumni" will be given at 2 p.m. followed by discussion, with prayer and farewell at 3 p.m.

Cost is $40 - Deadline to register is Oct. 22.

From Mourning to Dawn,the diocesan grief support group for widows and widowers begins a new session on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. Mourning to Dawn facilitators (who have themselves also experienced the death of a marriage partner) engage with participants on an eight-week journey of transformation and healing, offering support and encouragement for bereaved spouses. This program is open to participants who have been widows/widowers between 2 months and 2 years.
