Treaty Learning Journey Series – The Truth and Reconciliation committee of St. Philip Neri Parish in Saskatoon is organizing host for a series of four Treaty Learning Journey workshops led by a team from the Office of the Treaty Commissioner. This is an ecumenical initiative open to people from faith communities across Saskatoon.

Sessions will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturdays, Oct.. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 18 and Nov. 25 at Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre, 601 Taylor Street West, Saskatoon.

These four acclaimed workshops walk us from Before Treaty, to what happened At Treaty, After Treaty, and Today. Past participants report experiencing a “fundamental rewiring and understanding of the relationship between First Nations people and the British and Canadian governments”, and that any notions of “shame or blame” are soon overtaken by a deeper sense of hope and a resolve to help build a better future for all the people of this land.

All are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. Participating faith groups, including the Prairie Centre for Ecumenism, are helping to underwrite the cost, but for participants who can afford it, a freewill offering of $10 per session will be gratefully received.
