Red Wednesday – awareness, prayers and action for Persecuted Christians
RED WEDNESDAY is An Awareness Day for Persecuted Christians – An estimated 327 million Christians in the world today are affected by religious persecution. In an effort to make them known and to be in solidarity with them,
Aid to the Church in Need is promoting Red Wednesday, to be marked this year around the world on Nov. 20, 2019. You are invited to learn more about the plight of persecuted Christians and to pray on that day – as individuals, families, parishes and communities.
You are also encouraged to wear red, or to light up buildings in red on Nov. 20 as a sign of your solidarity for those who are persecuted.
Prayer resources for vigils, rosary events, mass intentions and more are available on the Aid to the Church in Need website at: ACN-canada — including facts about religious persecution and stories about persecuted Christians.
