1989Columbus Bosco Homes is incorporated as a non-profit society.
1993Superintendent Chris Sarich and Bosco President Roman Bergerman finalize a partnership agreement with St. Paul’s R.C.S.S. division leading to the establishment of the Farm School.
1993Columbus Bosco Homes purchased a beautiful 80 acre riverfront property complete with a spacious home and all the facilities needed for a school. The school opened in September 1993 with 2 classrooms and 20 students. The Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools system provided two classroom teachers and two teacher assistants responsible for developing the program, supervision of the students, and care of the grounds. Columbus Bosco Homes provided the land and facilities.
1995The Family Support Program initiated and developed by Elaine Zakreski, Early Childhood Consultant, opened with one centre at St. John School. The program has expanded to all quadrants of the city which attests to their need and the success of the work that parent facilitators and child-care workers are doing.
2009The Substance Abuse Awareness Program (S.A.A.P.) was added at the Farm School.
2010Over the history of the organization many improvements have been made in both programs and facilities. For example, the students and staff at the Farm School have worked together to build corrals, a chicken coop, shelters for horses. The needs of children and adolescents are continually changing. Staff have been equal to the task of meeting diverse needs with amazing results. Parents have constantly made comments similar to “my son made a complete U-turn in his life,” or “If it wasn’t for this program we don’t know where our daughter would be.”
