The Ethics of Stories We Tell” – The 2024 W.F. Mitchell Bioethics Seminar will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Pylypchuk Hall at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, with speaker Paul Costello, author and founder of Storywise.
Contact Bonnie.Hope@saskhealthauthority.ca for information or to register for the in-person or the Webex virtual broadcast.
From stories told around campfires to Scripture and Aesop’s Fables, we’ve all heard the question, “What is the moral of the story?” Paul Costello will help us ask the question, “What are the ethical implications of our story?” Stories have power in the world and power in our lives. If stories affect our decisions, it is essential that we better understand the ethics of the stories we tell.
About the Speaker: Paul Costello, author and founder of Storywise, is the Director of Project Maryland’s oldest AmeriCorps program. He has received public recognition from the US Congress and the Northern Ireland Assembly for his contribution to building a new story for Northern Ireland and discovering in the process, a powerful narrative way of peace-building; a process he has also applied to the Middle East, in a program working with Palestinian and Israeli students. He has worked with NASA, the US Department of Treasury, Lockheed Martin, and been guest lecturer at universities and colleges across the world.
