- Prayer for the Sick (Source: Holy Family Parish, St. Albert Alberta) – Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts.
Diocesan prayer: Merciful and tender God, to you we lift up the sick and hospitalized, the vulnerable and the marginalized, those who do not have adequate access to health care, and all those suffering from physical or mental illness – as well as all those who care for them. We ask that all may find comfort and hope in Christ’s constant healing presence. Strengthened by the Holy Spirit, may we always strive to provide compassionate, loving care to those who are suffering.
