Our Lady of Guadalupe presents Indigenous Awareness Training Session

Exploring history, myths and misconceptions, world views:

An Indigenous Awareness Training Session was held May 30 at St. Mary's Hall, Saskatoon, hosted by Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

Facilitator Misty Brabant presented an overfiew of Canadian history and treaties, the impact of Residential Schools and the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). Those in attendance heard about the legacy of destroyed trust and many hurts, myths and misconceptions, as well as cultural differences, insights into kinship, ceremonies and family obligations.
